I have relied on open source tracking of Putin's Kleptocracy, Kompromat and influence campaigns for decades.
I agree with the KGB/FSB assessments of Trump, the US base voter and what they describe as the "stupidity" of the [broader] US political class.
Putin uses Trump as a tool to further divide and in my view disintegrate the Social fabric of the United States.
Base voters in other G20 countries mostly have some sort of global perspective. Putin has successfully "influenced" values of both the hard right and the hard left of US politics for a long time because many people there have little or no understanding of what happens beyond their county line, let alone any geopolitical issue.
And so the Pied Pipers can lead the US voters happily to their destruction.
