What the US has or hasn’t done isn’t justification for Putin to rape, murder and commit genocide in Ukraine.
Either you believe something is wrong and you’re against anyone doing it, or you are a hypocrite.
You can’t pick a “side” that you allow to get away with something you say you disapprove of.
