Yup, this war has put Xi's invasion back by decades. I'd hazard a guess a combined arms amphibious invasion would be a greater debacle than what we're seeing in the Ukraine. Note, in order to be successful, China would have to totally obliterate towns and cities with missiles and air bombardments. Taiwan has most of the world's computer chip foundaries and what not. China wants to take Taiwan whole, not completely destroyed!
