that was being refused .....it was impossible under NATO rules with conflict already on Ukrainian soil .....and Germany and France were determined that rule should stay - there was never going to be any eceptions made .......because

western European nations were getting all that oil and gas from russia .....really DID NOT want to offend russia by admitting Ukriane against their own rules and hence upset the apple cart --Europe was peaceful except for the Donbas and Europe was prepared to live with that at the time - for the sake of russian energy

....but putin changed that balance with the invasion .....it was a tipping point ..... a step too far for Europe to tolerate where (some) principal was traded for expedience but .....this was just too immoral to stomach and too dangerous to permit unchecked

if Mook were to understand the situation he should understand the European motrivation and why it changed after invasion

All was going fine and dandy for Ukraine. Until US backed a coup and installed an anti-Russian government.

NATO knew that meddling in Ukrainian internal affairs and trying to pull Ukraine out of Russian sphere of influence would force Russia to respond. They did it anyway. At the expense of hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian lives.
