Hi Beanjet, while it’s not hard to understand why Africa has great animosity toward Europe, with such a long and sordid history of brutal colonialism on the continent, it’s understandable, but your description of the situation in Libya is not quite accurate.
Qaddafi was far from a saint, he was a major sponsor of terrorism across the globe on top of the brutality of his regime dished out to Libyans. His eventual demise was the result of several major events taking place in the midst of the Arab spring sweeping across the region.
The Arab spring reached Libya, protests ensued, so did a brutal crackdown by Qaddafi, sparking civil war, sparking an intervention by Nato lead forces, under a UN mandate.
The benefit of the Nato lead intervention can be argued, Libya remains a broken country, in contrast to the brutal but stable dictatorship prior, but to imply a naked act of aggression against Libya by Nato is not what happened.
