i guess as an ordinary Australian i have quite some sympathy for ordinary Ukrainians.

Australia has this week participated in naval exercises in the South China Sea with vessels from the US, Japan and the Philippines to advance freedom of navigation rights in the area, though this has never been threatened.

the naval drills follow the visit to Australia mid March of China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi that were meant to help moderate the confected tension Australia has projected onto its number #1 trading partner.

were Australians ever asked if they wanted to swallow US bs about Chinese aggression? or through the Force Posture Agreement become a US base?

China has never threatened Australia but somehow we've been swindled into believing we need to buy some nuclear-powered attack subs for only $368 billion.

a pity Australian leaders and their Ukranian counterparts couldn't listen to their citizens occasionally.

There has been a slight decrease, compared to May 2022, in the number of Ukrainians who believe in full de-occupation of the country's territories, according to a survey by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) published on Feb. 21.

"The overwhelming majority of Ukrainians - 65% - still believe that the war will end with the return of all territories, including Donbas and Crimea, to Ukrainian control. Indeed, 14% believe that the war will move to the territory of the Russian Federation."

As far as US proxy war is concerned, just more of your pro Russian lies. The war started 10 years ago with the annexation of Crimea and Donbas. The West showed little interest then and allowed it to happen. Even when the tens of thousands of Russian rapists, looters and murderers marched on Kyiv in 2022 there was little immediate support from USA. Only the amazing fightback by the Ukrainians against overwhelming odds swung the EU and USA into the supply of some serious weapons.

The real reason for the invasion by the Moscow Mafia Dwarf was his ego. He let it slip, he thinks he is the new Peter the Great. He has openly compared himself to the Russian tsar, equating Russia's invasion of Ukraine today with Peter's expansionist wars some three centuries ago, and making his strongest acknowledgment yet that his own war is a land grab.

As far as the rest of your post is concerned it is irrelevant. If you want to start a discussion about China, USA and Australian foreign polycy start a new thread.

In general you seem to be intent mainly on mindless ranting and raving about the evils of Western Democracy. Typical stuff from the cubyhouse meetings of aging International Socialists still clinging to the ideals of the Vietnam war era. Spending a lifetime invested in Trotskyite ideologies has left them with nowhere else to go.
