We have officially declared China as our # 1 Enemy and we are
"nuking up" albeit very long term to protect ourselves from China.
Just imagine for one moment if things ware the other way around:
That we were importing massive amounts of minerals and energy
from China and that China declared Aus as its #1 enemy....how would you be..eh mate?
You'd likely say "bugger you" and we'll source our imports from elsewhere and
we'll ensure that the big trade surplus is reduced to zero in the interim.
And so it is with China, IMO, but we are so much up our selves (and Uncle Sam)
to realise this.
This Ukrainian War, IMO is advancing the US desperate attempt to contain China
with China's support of Russia being the Catalyst .
As I said , we have made our bed with Uncle Sam as our bedfellow and IMO time will tell
who's up who and who is paying?
IMO we made a fatal mistake by publicly declaring China as our # 1 enemy
(officially we could have thought so) but IMO over time its economic suicide for Aus
to alienate China while depending on China Trade to stave off national bankruptcy .
So in summary, I reiterate:
That at this stage our best position to take is to advocate a Ukrainian War ceasefire/negotiated settlement
to quell the US economic attack on China so that we have time to develop and implement a strategy
to diversify trade away from China dependance, trade globally more broadly, improve our balance of trade
by adding Aus value to our exports rather than "dig it up and ship it out to our enemy"
IMO this war has gone on for long enough with the absurd prospect of more of the same.
Again, IMO , to change this war in the Ukraine's favour would require NATO boots on the ground in the Ukraine
and that is a prescription for WW3 with China backing Russia ' by whatever it takes"
And that mate, is M.A.D which only lemmings would advocate
