DG, there is a much simpler way of looking at this.
Russia will do whatever it wants and take whatever it wants as of today. There is nothing at all that Zel can do about it as of today.
Zel had options a few years ago. He could have made peace with Russia at that time. He has no viable option as of today. He can ask for peace negotiations with Russia but will just have to take whatever Russia gives.
