no ....it was a part of Ukraine, legally geographicaly ......but putin treated it like a suasage sandwhich and grabbed it
if you want to pursue this line of argument by the same token Transnistria goes back to Moldova and Kaliningrad - real name Konigsberg , gets indepenance . The latter had no history at all as part of russia but was stolen like the Blatic states after ww2 .
