Of the countries in the Western Balkans, also the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as Montenegro are pursuing NATO membership. At the Bucharest Summit in April 2008, Allied leaders agreed that Georgia and Ukraine, too, will become NATO members sometime in the future
