@givemethecash Battlefield individual mobility is useful particularly if you can go fast to respond to dynamic situations.
I think the soldiers on both sides in Ukraine are predominantly just ordinary folk with common intertwined heritage. It would be good if a political settlement could be found.
This is geopolitics though, US arms sales and EU captive to US energy sales is a bonus and we cant have the appearance of Russia winning in an election year. And speaking of domestic politics they want Ukraine to be a poison pill to trump not an election issue for sleepy joe so the war will continue in some form or other..... Ukraine is burning through troops faster than the US campaign though so we may see NATO intervention before November to avoid the "Biden lost the war" narrative
