Lesson learned from the past in dealing with Nazi Germany are quite valid in dealing with fascist Putin today. That being appeasement of fascist dictators do not bring peace (Minsk 1 and 2 are already evidence that Putin cannot be trusted).
No Ukrainians would die if Putin ended his war. Putin won't end his war, he has said so.
That leaves arming Ukraine to end Putin's war the only option left for Ukraine, that or face genocide. Not great options but they have chosen to defend themselves.
Zelensky is not the problem, Zelensky represents the will of Ukrainians as the democratically elected leader of Ukraine. Putin, the unelected fascist dictator of Russia, does not represent Russia's best interests and is only interested in maintaining his survival.
