while I would agree with most ..... a gold based currency is not possible ....there isn't enough gold , I've done the sums
basket of commodities including gold is possible ....but BRICS currency going nowhere as China will alwyas favour the RMB

GDP PPP is based on purchasing power WITHIN the country but GDP is a better measure of the gross assets of an economy by international standards
G7 GDP way bigger than BRICS and BRICS is a very loose and ineffective organisation anyway and considering conflict and antipathy between the 2 biggest members ....a very doubtful future .


but in the final analysis China are supremely pragmatic an will change tack as suits ....they are pleading neutrality in this conflict to keep their options open . While China has some weak support for russia materialy China will attempt to benefit whichever way this conflict goes
