responsible statecraft ......LIKE ................starting a war you can't win 2 years later.................. that alienates your biggest (and most profitable) gas and oil customers ..................that causes trade to be lost ......................that causes two strategic countries to ally with youyr enemies ..................... that humiliates your military (and navy) ...................that makes you reliant on one single large country for trade making you a price taker .................by losing all your weapons deals because you need them all yourself and because other countries see them as ineffective ........................that causes your leader to be bnamed a wanted war criminal ...................that uses up a decade )or decades) of military reserves and effectively wipes out the best part of a generation ................. that causes you to loose four votes in the UN .........................that devalues your currency and causes 16% offcial interest rates ...................that causes you to rob the future fund to finance the war .................................. that risks nuclear war ............etc etc etc

OK ..... we SHOULD talk about responsible statecraft !
