I'm sure staying out of NATO could be on the table but still would need some form of western force applied to make sure russia never attacks again - don't ever try and pretend here that putins word is enough !!!! Ukraine will not leave themselves prone and vulnerable .

The deal people sign up to just needs to be better than no-deal. As to security guarantees both sides will want any deal done to stick and be honoured - there is an element of trust but also verify and have a plan B just in case.
