    well I can relate to all those worthy things

    but of course you can still have democracy with big governemnt , big taxation etc ......these are all "choices" effectively that electors make .
    Largely comes down to level of socialism in policies - Tarvold elsewhere was complaining today we don't have enough public health in Oz compared to Sweden which of course costs more (tax) .....I don't agree with him .....I think we need to find a balance .

    but getting back to my original point ....you seem to imply because the present style of governemnt isn't what you (personaly) want that we don't actually have democracy in Oz ---- that's just wrong .
    The success of western democracy is demonstrated in the frequent changes of leadership and in the constant adjustment of policies to reflect the will of the voters .


    Ukraine DO want democracy - what sort of governemnt , how much tax , ho strong the public services will all be decided when the war is over by which leader and pollies they choose to elect and from what party .
