I don't mean advancing outside of Russia or the area of conflict , where they need to secure a buffer zone.
Putin has said he is not interested but I agree that Russia will respond to an attack from a NATO base.
Right now he is looking for a strategy that will make Britain and France feel the heat and he may have already found one in Caledonia .

Further than that is not worth discussing but there is a large faction that wants it -- those who have prepared to ride it out in underground cities.
The ones who can afford it like the arms dealers and vaccine floggers.
