During the 1980s the USSR military spend as about 18% of GDP
Russia's current military spend is about one third of that.
The big questions are:
-will Russia's military spend reach that of the USSR in the 1980s due to this war?
-and if so, how long can Russia sustain that level of military spend for?
IMO there are many Washington Hawks who have the theory that
compelling Russia to spend a lot more on its military , that that will
cause a USSR 2 type economic collapse.
Is the wishful thinking ?
