    what would cause US to escalate would be russia actually threatening Kyiv - IMO

    many pro russ were pushing the line some time back that Europe / the US were pushing Ukraine to negotiate / surrender to putins demands .

    I think that theory is thoroughly debunked now .....Europe is determined to see a Ukraine indepemdant of russia and russias adventurism in Ukraine rewarded as little as possible and willing to take strong measures to aid that .
