As of May 2024 Russia controls less of Ukraine than it did in April 2022. You can well argue that's not a Ukrainian victory but I think it's equally fair to say it's not a Russian victory either.
The vast majority of people, including myself, were convinced Russia would steam roll Ukraine in a month or two if not weeks. And why wouldn't they, Russia's military was several times larger than Ukraine's.
Be honest with yourself: when the "Special Military Operation" begun in Feb 2022 did it ever cross you mind that it would take over two+ years?
Any way we won't know who 'won' until it is over. I suspect that like most wars both sides will have 'lost'.
