@Lt Ripley
Still desperately trying to push the Kremlin "coup" lie when there simply was no coup.
According to the definition YOU provided, let's look at the facts and reality and leave the pro Kremlin junk propaganda lies and slogans behind.
Sudden -- 3 months of protests is nothing near sudden. Already a major factor in the definition has not been met. Criteria not met.
Violent -- The violence was almost exclusively AGAINST protestors, the complete opposite of the intention of this point. That's 2 major factors that show this was not a coup. Your gross and deliberate misrepresentation of the "violent" nature of the protests and your deliberately misleading attempt to paint all protestors as heavily armed people outgunning and easily overrunning security forces is simply not true and is just your typical behaviour on this forum. Criteria not met.
Unlawful -- The "unlawful" situation was only created AFTER Yanukovych planned an escape and did fled to Russia. There was no article in Ukraine's constitution that is written to handle a president who VOLUNTARILY ABANDONS the presidency. So another major factor in your Kremlin "coup" lie simply does not stand up to scrutiny. Criteria not met.
Seizure -- Considering Yanukovych ABANDONED the presidency (not a seizure by anyone) and the officials who were elected in the previous election were still present and part of the transition government before NEW ELECTIONS were held means nothing was seized. Criteria not met.
Your OWN definition and you are 0 from 4 points.
Yanukovych gave up the presidency voluntarily by his own actions, he made one bad decision after another which made him plan an escape, he then did a surrender deal with the opposition and then fled to Russia immediately after it.
There was no coup.
