Yep, I had a discusion last week about this with a CCP member. The Chinese want reunification and have been pumping their press that a war in inevitable.

Taiwan doesnt want reunification.

But its all smoke and mirrors by the Chinese CCP to quell the growing apathy in China and distract them from their economic issues.

The Chinese Boomers and Gen X'ers rule, and are traditionalists.

Gen Y's and Z are digitally savvy, and have a different take on traditions and beliefs.

BTW The Chinese wealth is in the hands of the X'ers and Y's, and the amount of cross border trade makes it riduclous to thingk that China would be willing to blow that all up. ( Ignoring the tarriffs that would be imposed on all Chinese goods )

Any new Taiwan-Chinese war propaganda is based on old cultural hangovers from the Chinese Civil war , and that is a hang up of the Chinese Boomers .

Their controlled news outlets pumps up the US aspect.

But apart from the computer chips the US wouldn't really care.
