Barrier troops are possibly used by both sides. I have seen actual video of Ukraine troops deleteting the english speaking barrier troops but i dont think this is a widespread phenomenon.

This video claims (in that awful monotone drone) the Russians are deserting positions and uses cartoons as evidence of desertion and Ukraine helping the troops to escape from the "penal unit" (to the east?). Why would the deserters run towards the people killing them?

If desertions was a widespread issue the Russians would not be able to hold ground let alone advance across multiple fronts. I call BS on this shameless propaganda cartoon.
