Definitely not propaganda and projection?
Only one side is doing general mobilisation. Both sides will take mercenaries and both sides recruited from jails. Russians are using relatively good pay to attract volunteers and it seems to be working.
I would say that Ukraine appears to be reaching the end of the line in terms of manpower sooner than Russia. Losses on both sides are significant in the hundreds of thousands but good luck getting accurate numbers from either side.
One thing we do know is that Zelensky said Russia is dropping 800 FAB glide bombs a week on Ukraine positions. The big bombs tend to hurt people.
Ukraine must be low on anti-air because not many FAB carriers are being taken down
10 to 1 russian advantage in Artillery
Lots of Iskander strikes on air defence and also logistics hubs and trains lately
Ukraine power grid is severely compromised.
Russia is advancing so you would expect increased losses but they do a lot of softening up with artillery and bombs so you would expect losses on Ukraine side too
Russia is exploiting their manpower advantage by starting new fronts. All of this tells me Ukraine has a bigger problem with manpower
