russia being forced to withdraw troops and air defense systems from NATO borders is not in russias national security interest
having Finland and Sweden join NATO is not russian national security
having NATO reinvigorated is not russian national sevuirty either
neither is losing allies like Kazakhstan and Armenia
nor is losing your gas exports west and being dependant on China
or depleting a couple of decades of weapons and ammo stockpiles
or losing so many men

the simple truth is this war has been a total clusterfick disaster for russias national security !
This war was never about security but about expansion of russias borders .....that IS what the annexation is .
