I heard that the Russian Black Sea fleet would never abandon Sevastopol. I heard that Kherson city was never going back to Ukraine. I am sure they believed that at the time like you think Putin can't withdraw his troops from Ukraine.

What Putin will do versus nothing stopping him from ending his war and you not wanting Putin to end his war are two completely different things.

So since Putin chooses to continue his failed war then next best thing to do is to arm Ukraine and support their defence against Putin's invasion and help them liberate territory like what happened in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Sumy and Kherson. Like what is happening, countries supporting Ukraine's choice.
