this war is nothing to do with the US

it's about russia enlarging their borders at Ukraines expense
russia have Kaliningrad - a German (Konigsberg) city they just "appropriated" after ww2 - which is a missile base exceedingly close to all the European capitols .....would russia give that up too ???

What you suggest is a non starter and would never be agreed on .....you should see the strategic weakening of Europe by doing as you say would be simply unconscionable ......but I'm not surprised to hear a pro russian support that idea of destroying the current balance of weaponry in Europe.
Your little jibe about the use of nukes was a very different time - russia has strategic bombers and fairly invisible subs to ensure MAD .

Be clear too .....Ukraines interest in any agreement and the wests (Euope and US fairly identical ) , are not exactly the same ......the west will not injure their own position for some small gain to Ukraine .

you seem to have NO GRASP of what's realistic at all .
I can absolutely gaurantee you this simplistic idea simply will not happen
