russia - plenty of volunteers. borders are fully open. anyone is welcome to come and go as they please.
ukraine - barely any volunteers. according to the latest poll, vast majority of ukrainians (over 50%) have someone among their friends and/or family that are trying to avoid the mobilisation. people in ukraine are kidnapped off the streets and forced into trenches with barely any training. borders are locked down. no man can leave (unless they bribe someone, which still does not guarantee you wont get captured during the border crossing). those that are desperate enough to try and leave on their own, face the risk of either drowning or getting shot by their own border guards.
