post WW2 based on the Bretton Woods "Agreement"
wich has permitted the US to skim global profits from others
by using the USD as the medium of exchange and
then print Trillions of USDs exclusively for export

This , unlike the Poms, Spanish & Dutch , is not
in your words about "stealing land' ..its about
skimming (stealing profits from) global trade.
Not a bad gig if it can be sustained...eh?

This Ukraine war is rapidly reducing US economic imperialism
based on the USD which now has dropped well below 50%
of global trade transactions and it is sinking fast due to
the expanding BRICS and their determination to break
free from US Imperialism.

In the 19thC , colonial powers "stole" land (Your preferred term) and put boots on the ground
to extract wealth (just look at the Pommy Big Houses and their demise
with the demise of empire) while Uncle Sam does it his way via
consumer clout (access to US markets) the USD and a global Military
complex to enforce it.

America sells the deal as Democracy & Free Market Capitalism!!!
What a swindle...eh?

PS: Had the USD not been the global reserve currency (ie US ability
to print $6 trillion and export it without creating Hyper US inflation)
then the US would have been in recession for most years between
2008 and now. Of course China is now sitting doggo on nearly
$4 Trillion USD of foreign reserves and treasuries so that if
the US attacks China, that China can sink the USA by dumping
its Forex USD & US Treasuries on the market.Its the ultimate
economic depth charge, IMO.
