They can't stop until Kyiv come to an agreement with them. Same as it has been since the start - when Russia expected them to come to the table. Also there was fighting before 2022, as you know. We also should consider what would happen to the 'local populations' of DPA/LPA etc. given certain Ukrainian tendencies to deal with 'traitors' (see Gorashchenko). I use non-Ukrainian sources for updates, because most (almost all?) Ukrainian updates are proved incorrect within a few weeks/days. The ones I use are solid (proven over years), and I waste enough of my time following them, than also watching things that are incorrect.
