UN have to choose some "body" as an arbiter... UN and international courts are mine as best available. Built up out of WW2 and subsequent wars and conflicts. The UN suffers from lack of enforcement and application of veto.... But it is better than any individual government in these world scale issues.

There really is no comparison between the view from UN and Putin on how Ukrainians/Russians should be treated.

As said earlier I am supporting these views... not Russian, not USA .... We as a world have to move on from authoritarian invasion and occupation... Very retro... This war is clearly illegal by that standard. It is not even close call by the world on the scale of contempt Putin is showing to humanity, to Ukrainians it is a savage and barbaric act.
