    Doubt it was just a propaganda stunt. Suspect it was expertly planned and directed by the US to throw a spanner into the works of Russia's impending massive incursion into northern Ukraine. Either to delay it or provoke the Russian force to expose themselves to attack prematurely.

    Russia had just finished removing all of their own defensive land mines on their intended path for their massed invasion forces. These forces are stationed out of harm's way sufficiently far from the border. It was the ideal opportunity for the Ukraine incursion.

    Seems to me like a sound piece of NATO planning and execution.
