Maybe clear up the contradiction and settle on a narrative? If you want the proxy war narrative then Nato definitely isn't fighting Putin. Nato "Not necessarily involved" implies they are involved which then makes the proxy narrative redundant.

I'd say fix yourself on a narrative, it'll avoid such obvious contradictions going forward.

Putin wasn't allowed to invade Ukraine but he did anyway. Imaginary roadblocks to peace help no one. The decree only applies to Putin, he can easily send a representative easy. Besides, Ukraine is the only one who is doing anything related to peace. Maybe Putin shouldn't rule out Russia from participating.
