I guess for those into War Games, this board is a fertile
playground , but for those who seriously want to understand
this war (rather than take a bigoted position) the JS Mill
quotes above are very relevant . Western students of politics
recognise Mill, Locke etc as the architects of 19th C/20thC
Liberalism and IMO their respective philosophies are relevant
to this war particularly the right to Liberty within limits.

I quoted Mill above for 2 particular reasons:
    (a) That to fully understand one's own position in
. a conflict, one has also to understand the position
. of the opponent. This war has always been about
the national security of both countries and to spin
it otherwise is merely bigoted propaganda

    (b) The second reason that Mill is relevant is that
he has said in "On Liberty" (my summary) that
its a right to assert liberty provided that it doesn't
negatively impact the liberty of others (In this case
    Ukraine & Russia)

Re; Unfounded allegations that my position on
    this war is pro-Russia.

Can I simply state again ( for the simply minded)
that as a Political Realist my interest is this war
is to firstly understand it and secondly to advocate
a negotiated peace ASAP because, IMO, war is the
    problem and not the solution

I'm keenly aware that bigots tend to first of all
misrepresent those with whom they don't agree
and then publicly pillory the opponent by mis-characterising
    his/her point of view.
(The binary stunt...either you are with me or 'agin" me)
