I think Russia could easily tolerate if behaved sanely instead of irrationally on ideology...

Gerrmany became insane during WW2, but "relatively quickly" returned to sanity ( a decade or 2) to be a European powerhouse admired by its neighbours. Russia could do the same given half decent system political system and leader. Putin is fashioning a cart to pull Russia back to 50s, taking the Russian people for a ride.
