The Russians in Kursk are the sons of Moscow and St Petersburg who are doing their time in a "safe" enclave. They are supposed to come home to their middle class families sooner rather than later, not captured, or dead. Politically this is a disaster.

There are a couple of divisions of Russians who have been isolated because the only bridge capable of high loads has been destroyed so they can neither get resupplied or extracted. A massive surrender will happen soon.
