They're showing progress is steady.
You can check yourself: A month ago Russian forces 23/24km from Pokrovsk. Today they are about 13km away.
The +10km taken have included many fortifications. There seem to be fewer on the remainder of the way to Pokrovsk (according to Clement Molin's map [see a THETI video Description for link]).

Russia are taking AFU prisoner. I don't know why you would have a problem with such a statement. (Would you prefer they didn't?)
