a CIA backed Coup/Revolution...be pedantic if you wish.

The bottom line is that the legitimately elected Government was
debunked and replaced by an interim cabal the promptly
cancelled the 1996 Constitution without a Referendum:

NB: There was "deadly " clashes between protesters and state forces" ...so call
it what you wish... There are Coups and Military Coups, both involve removing
government by violence


IMO there is no reasonable person who would say that this illegal seizure of government was violence free!
