After WW2, first the OSS, then the CIA in their efforts to dominate Europe and push the Soviets out, established secret-stay behing armies. Which were later co-ordinated by NATO and had organised crime groups, terrorists and nazi groups in their employ (Operation Gladio).
At the same time CIA was starting to train and co-operate with 'Ukrainian' nazi-collaborators. Training and assisting them with the planning and execution of various sabotage acts in USSR (refer to the CIA: Undermining and Nazifying Ukraine since 1953 thread, which you can find in my posting history)
After the USSR got dissolved, CIA/NATO got their hooks into most of the ex-Soviet block countries, Ukraine included.Actually organisations like the NED established their presence in Ukraine back in the 80's. NED is a CIA-front organisation, that dabbles in things like encouraging division, financing coups and revolutions.
Billions were spent by the collective west to change Ukraine's education system, and convince them that their closest neighbour and ally, is actually their enemy.Today we have this same collective West, that's convincing Ukrainians that their life mission is not to preserve or multiply life, build and develop industries (which for some reason they haven't done since they became independent). Nope. Their one single mission is to cause as much damage to Russia as possible, even at the cost of their own life. At the cost of their country losing territories and at the cost of Ukraine losing any remains of it's sovereignty, not mentioning the potential loss of it's Black Sea access, which will most certainly happen if this war drags on.
Since Ukraine decided to abandon their pro-negotiation stance once again, and escalate the conflict instead, I believe this leaves Russia with no choice but to destroy the Ukrainian army completely. And AFU's Kursk incursion is a great window of opportunity for Russia to expedite the process.
