Well it was you only a few posts ago emphasising countries act in their own interests. That's no surprise...of course they do. And of course you conveniently overlook British requests for direct negotiations in a effort to avoid War and Hitler's demands (emboldened by the Soviet Pact no doubt) on Poland which they refused. A noble aim....to try and avoid War which Stalin helped ignite....fact. The rest is History....but trying to paint the UK/French as being some kind of evil doers responsible because they wouldn't agree to Stalin's previously sought agreement is nonsense.
