I think you would be surprised by the changing opinions. A few weeks ago on a night out we ended up talking with a group of people. Upon realising I thought Trump was given a hard time (my ex has TDS and occasional throws me to the wolves ) a few of them went off on a tirade. After the ladies calmed down, the guys in the group and I had a back and forth about it. They disagreed and visa versa, but we kept it polite.
Then, Ukraine was brought up, and like magic... suddenly everyone was on exactly the same page.
All this to say, 2 years ago there was a lot of hostility if you told people about the Russian perspective. Lately I have noticed there is a lot more agreement.
