Nah I think Odessa is the next prime target. Large part of the population is 'Russian' and strategically it cuts Ukraine off from the black sea and lets then establish a link to Transnistria (assuming they then take the rest of the coast).
Russia only wants to take areas that they consider 'Russian'. the UKrainians proper are tough people and Russia knows they will be facing rebellion for the foreseeable future. Just my opinion but its somewhat logical.
