My position is that economics trumps politics including ideology
over time.
America has been fighting a war on import illicit drugs for over half a century
but it hasn't worked so why should they think that economic sanctions on
Russia at the expense of other countries will work either.?
Economic sanctions on Russia is creueling the EC economy and in particular
Germany.
Last week there were 2 significant announcements/events in Germany.
-VW announced that it may phase out German based production.
-2 States in Germany voted in favour of the Far Right (these areas are similar
to US Rustbelt and areas of NE England (pro Brexit) that has had its manufacturing gutted.
My point is from a macro economic point of view, that US instigated Economic Sanctions
on Russia are having some very serious "unintended" consequences for Europe
while Russia has emulated Iran & Venezuela with strategies to circumvent the Sanctions.
I appreciate that this reasonng may be a flyshit above your reasoning ability
but after all, HC is also an educational blog!
PS: We hear alot about a possible recession in Russia (intended by Sanctions)
but we here nothing about Germany's Recession (unintended by Sanctions)
