In a fragmented world UN is trying to do a decent job was the reason for Europe to be relatively calm since WW2. Without it rest of the world too would have being a lot more volatile and less healthier.
However its cause was not helped by despots such as Putin who is hell bent on expansionism and robbery to stay in power. Both side of the spectrum were guilty on many occasions but war to land grab, such as Ukraine war tops it all.
