Any thoughts on how Germany, the industrial and manufacturing powerhouse of Europe got outplayed by the Chinese EV industry, the EU crazy policy to ban internal combustion engines, and the catastrophic rise in the energy prices due to abandoning cheap Russian gas imports?

Germany closing massive factories and laying off thousands of its workers, on its own soil due to being uncompetitive is unheard of.
