Author:Bohdan BabaievSince the beginning of September 9, 147 combat engagements have taken place on the front lines, with Russian forces primarily attacking in three directions in the Donetsk region, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian shelling
Throughout the day, the enemy launched two missile strikes on Ukrainian territory, employing two missiles, 71 airstrikes (dropping 91 guided bombs), and deploying 593 kamikaze drones. Additionally, the enemy carried out 3,751 shelling attacks on our military positions and civilian settlements.
Situation in the directions
In the Kharkiv direction, Russian troops launched one attack near Vovchansk during the day. Kharkiv came under bombardment, and Russian troops struck Bilokrynychne with unguided aerial rockets fired from Ka-52 helicopters.
The enemy assaulted Ukrainian positions nine times in the Kupiansk direction, near Petropavlivka, Synkivka, Stelmakhivka, Lozova, and Hlushkivka. Two engagements are ongoing.
In the Lyman direction, Russian forces attempted 13 advances in the areas of Cherneshchyna, Makiivka, Novosadove, Nevske, Dibrova, Hryhorivka, Yampilivka, and Torske. Ukrainian defenders repelled nine attacks, and battles continued near Nevske and Novosadove.
In the Siversk direction, the enemy launched 11 attacks, concentrating efforts near Verkhniokamianske, Spirne, and Zvanivka. Near Zvanivka, the enemy deployed about five infantry fighting vehicles to support its troops but suffered losses. Fighting continues in this area.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Russian forces carried out two assault actions near Bila Hora. The situation remains under the control of Defense Forces units.
In the Toretsk direction, Russian troops attacked six times with air support near Toretsk and Nelipivka, facing fierce resistance.
High-intensity fighting continues in the Pokrovsk direction, with 33 recorded clashes. The enemy maintains pressure on our positions near Vozdvyzhenka, Zelene Pole, Novotroitske, Hrodivka, Novohrodivka, Selydove, and Mykhailivka. All attacks have been repelled so far. The primary enemy focus today was in the Novohrodivka area, accounting for nearly 40 percent of all clashes.
Preliminary enemy losses include 336 soldiers killed or wounded, the destruction of one electronic warfare system, three artillery systems, three vehicles, and six motorcycles, and damage to five artillery systems and five vehicles.
In the Kurakhove direction, 46 combat engagements of varying intensity were recorded. Russian troops were most active in attempting to advance near Krasnohorivka, Kostiantynivka, and Heorhiivka, which saw approximately 75 percent of all clashes. The enemy also attacked Halytsynivka, Ukrainske, and Zhelanne Pershe.
In the Vremivka direction, Russian troops launched nine assaults today against our front lines in the areas of Vuhledar, Zolota Nyva, and Shakhtarsk. Ukrainian forces halted seven enemy assaults, with two battles ongoing near Vuhledar, where the enemy also used attack aviation, firing unguided rockets.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy conducted three attacks in total, two of which were repelled near Mala Tokmachka, while one continued near Mali Shcherbaky.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, nine enemy attempts to seize our positions have been unsuccessful.
It is worth noting that in the Kherson region, Russian forces are conducting rotations and have not reduced their grouping.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces explained how they managed to stop the Russian advance in the Pokrovsk direction.
Meanwhile, the Czech military command has urged Western countries to allow Ukraine to strike military targets deep within Russian territory using Western-supplied weapons.
