Yeap, sure is and I am glad I am living here despite all its bad points. However, things are deteriorating rapidly. Still, glad to be here than anywhere in Europe, Ukraine or even Russia.
protests allowed. Lets stay out of the awful mess that is US politics. The best way to defeat an autocratic enemy is to set an example and make their people want to be like you, be your friend and ally and work together.
Sadly, we will never defeat the rising autocratic enemy running rampant across the whole world. It's defeat will be later by someone of a greater power and authority, not of any mere mortal. We will just have to be on the alert, be self-defensive as much as possible, and suffer the consequences in the face of evil people until it is defeated by said greater power. Ukraine is just a small fry. Russia a bigger fry.
Unfortunately the west is moving towards becoming an oppressive corrupt more totalitarian and invasive controlling regime rather than a society based on freedom and rights that minimises govt intervention.
Yes, the West is becoming more totalitarian, etc.. Anyone who hasn't noticed it yet must be completely out of touch with what's happening around us. Soon, it will be hard to distinguish us from China, Russia, Iran, etc.
