putin still imagines russia .....despite all the evidence to the cotrary .....to be a superpower who can do what they damned well want .....this is where his ego ....his isolationism ....his lack of objective advisors ....all work against his and russias best interest

putin simply digs the hole deeper and deeper and provides much incentive for someone to remove him and stop the pain
