May be a reason to cancel the election, Russia doesn't see the Ukraine as a direct threat to Russia hence the slow grind targetting Ukraine military equipment and forces. NATO is a direct threat to Russia's survival, if it goes Russia will react hard and fast to eliminate the threat.
