    I realise that both US & Russian regimes have moved on since then;
particularly those of the USA (Bush 1-Clinton-Bush2-Obama-Trump-Biden)
and IMO just as the US seems to not be bound by previous regimes'
agreements, so, IMO the current Russian regime is not bound by
past Russian regimes' agreements either . That's the norm for Great Powers.

The bottom line here is that if both sides dont recognise the others'
National Security Concerns, then there is no hope of a peaceful solution.

Even the best case scenario was achieved for the Ukraine..(ie that
russian troops were driven out of pre 2024 Uki borders , that, IMO
won't settle the war because Russia will simply support Donbas
separatests as they have 2014-2022 which would still preclude
the Ukraine qualifying for either NATO or EC membership.

    So the sane solution is:
    -Ceasefire
-Peace negotions based on mutual national security concerns.

Supplying Ukraine with long range missiles and the western
personell to target/launch them will simply attract an equal if not
    more powerful response from Russia.

of course you dont need to be Einstein to realise that this is
a proxy US-Russian war and the more it escalates the closer
the Doomsday Clock gets to Midnight and furthermore
on does not have to be a Nuke Physicist to realise that
that would be lights out for you and I .

So if you wish that on yourself, then dont think others
have such low self-esteem/self worth in sharing your lemming instinct.
